Dining Room Chair Slipcovers

If you are planning a special dinner or event and you know that your chairs are not adequate enough for the moment, there is no need to replace them with new or rented ones.  Rather a Dining room chair covers simply hides the usual look of your chair in a fabric color or pattern that goes with the rest of your decor.  But if you have a large event that requires a large number of chair covers, they can be expensive to rent.  Your cheapest option would be to make simple ones from fabric yourself.

manual

Measure the length and width of each chair back.  Cut two identical pieces of dining room chair cover that are 2 inches longer and 2 inches wider than each chair back.  Pin the two pieces of fabric together with the straightening irons.  Sew the two long sides and one of the short sides together.  Use a simple running stitch and either hand or sew with a sewing machine.

Tuck the edges down on the unlined side of the chair covers to create a 1/4 “to 1/2” hem.  Sew the hem with a simple work stitch by hand or with a sewing machine.  Remove the pins as you sew.  Turn each chair cover right side out and slide it onto the backrest.  You can add decorations to the quilt, each wrapping a sash or sticking silk flowers or bows on it.
